Issuu Version of Photographing Social Protest

Here’s the Issuu version of my guide to Photographing Social Protest and Civic Activism. You can click on it to make it full screen, or you can see it in the Issuu site. I intend to explore Issuu a bit more, so expect a few other “publications” that way.

I’ll rely on this guide for a workshop I’m leading in Puerto Rico re photographing social protest and creating digital storytelling projects. In fact, the workshop is today. Prensa Comunitaria invited me to speak about this guide and its subject matter, and I’m headed over in a short while. I’ll post an account of the event a bit later tonight if I can.

Look in the next post for an early copy of the poster Prensa Comunitaria prepared for the talk. I’m doing the presentation in Spanish, and thus had to practice some of the photography terminology in translation! Unfortunately for me, I have done all my photography, my writing, and my thinking of technology and social movement theory in English. Hence the need for a bit of review of key terms before the presentation.
